I promptly went to Open Tech's website to see for myself, but it seems they had already taken down the OS logos. In fact, I caught a glimpse of them on their "Open Tech XT" page, but it dissappeared after subsequent refreshes. Fortunately, I was able to cap a pic of their webstore, which says:

"*OS X Leopard Will not be pre-installed or included. Instead you can install it yourself using an easy Do-it-yourself kit. All other Operating System will be preinstalled* VISTA & XP ARE 64-BIT",

along with a dropdown menu that allows you to select OS X Leopard as your choice of OS.

Open Tech Inc. is blatantly advertising their computers as Leopard capable and offering to supply users with miscellaneous materials for the purpose of installing Leopard on their products. The latter was specifically part of the legal complaint that Apple had filed against Psystar.

But honestly Open Tech, why can't your product and company names be a tad more creative than our now infamous friend, the Open Computer?

[in InsanelyMac News] Quick, Look! It's Quick Look in Snow Leopard! http://www.newsisfree.com/iclick/i,297715288,31511,o/ In Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard, Apple introduced a new technology called Quick Look, as fast and easy way to preview media, documents, and other files on your computer without having to open up an entire program to view their contents. QuickLook was available from Finder in CoverFlow mode, where you could click on the file in CoverFlow to preview it, in List Mode, you could view your the selected item by clicking it once, then clicking the icon in the sidebar to view a quick preview of it, or just by clicking a file and pressing the space bar.

Taking it one step further in the next version of Mac OS X, dubbed Snow Leopard, Apple is incorporating QuickLook into the file's icons themselves, making it even easier to preview your media without even having to open a program. When the user rolls the cursor over the desired file's icon, a gray triangle will appear. When clicked, the icon will show a full preview of its contents.

For other types of files such as Keynote presentations or Microsoft Word documents, QuickLook will allow you to flick through the pages and slides in the file without having to open up the respective application.

Yes, this will definitely be a nifty feature to have, but unless you've got your icons cranked up to the maximum size, it may pose as a bit of a challenge to preview your files in that tiny icon view.

Snow Leopard is the next generation of Mac OS X and is due sometime in 2009.

Credits to AppleInsider for the find.
[in InsanelyMac News] Pwnage Tool 2.0 Released http://www.newsisfree.com/iclick/i,297715287,31511,o/ The wait is over for Pwnage Tool.
